Could you Go Green for Willow Wood?
The week starting Monday 27 March is the week when Willow Wood would like to see the whole of Tameside and Glossop Go Green.
It’s a very simple but effective way of raising funds for your local Hospice – ask your colleagues to come to work wearing green and donate £1 to help Willow Wood continue to care.It doesn’t even have to be green from top to toe, green socks or a green tie will do, but we would love to see your pictures if you dress as the Incredible Hulk, the Green Lantern or even the Jolly Green Giant!
If you’d like to raise even more for Willow Wood why not organise a bake sale.Mint flavoured cream in cupcakes, key lime pie or even a green velvet cake in place of the more usual red velvet cake.If you normally have the traditional girl’s night out on Friday, why not stay in with some green cocktails and donate the money you saved on taxis and entrance fees.
If any schools would like to Go Green for Willow Wood, then we can even provide a resource pack including a lesson plan suitable for KS1 and KS2, a Powerpoint presentation, a Powerpoint quiz and more.As Dot Birchfield says “It’s a really clever way for the children to learn a little about charities in general, why we need Hospices, and about Willow Wood specifically. One of our volunteers, who is also a teacher, produced it so we know it fits with the current syllabus”
If you’re interested then either contact Dot direct on 0161 330 7788 or dotb@willowwood, pick up a registration form from any of our shops or our reception, or go to www.willowwood.info.
