Community
It currently costs around £2 million per year to run the Hospice, but no charge is made for any of our services.
We rely heavily on our small army of more than 400 volunteer workers and helpers, without whom the Hospice could not survive.
We also rely on support from people and businesses in the local community. Many local businesses have supported the Hospice by raising funds, or by sponsoring or hosting fundraising events. We are always on the lookout for more corporate partners.
The Hospice is now welcoming Medical Students with an interest in Palliative Care on Student Selected Component (SSC) placements.
We have produced a Schools Information Pack, which will help to encourage local schools to find out more about the Hospice and organise fundraising events.
Ways You Can Contribute
Here are some of the ways you can help:
- Encourage your employer to set up a Payroll Giving Scheme
- If you have a business, join our Corporate Partners Scheme
- Become a volunteer helper in the Hospice or one of our shops
Any support or contribution you can offer, large or small, will play an important part in maintaining and developing our service
