Hospice Lottery
It costs around £2 million to run Willow Wood Hospice and all of its services each year.
But, despite the enormous bill, patients and their families can be assured of having access to all its amenities completely free of charge. One source of that funding is the Hospice's own Lottery scheme.
If you like to have the odd flutter every now and again, then why not gamble your cash using Willow Wood's Lottery, where you could win up to £1,000 by spending just £1 a week. That way, if you don't win, you'll know exactly where your money has gone - back to the Hospice to allow it to continue its vital care to the local community. Helping Chris run the big event and maximising income from the draw is Martin Bell. The Hospice took the decision to employ Martin to drum up support for the lottery by knocking on your doors asking for help. Since he started he has recruited more than 4,000 supporters.
"Our lottery membership now stands at over 9,000 paying members. But with a population of 230,000 in our catchment area, we still have a long way to go," added Chris.

The success of the Hospice lottery is however causing Chris quite a few headaches.
About 45% of the 9,000 members frequently taking part rely on the regular visits of the collector and this is where you could help. If you have a few spare hours free every month and would like to know more about the commission paid positions, then contact Chris - she would love to hear from you.
