I was born in Bristol. Studied performing arts in Wakefield.
Career: London Transport: Customer service manager and broadcaster.
Oldham Coliseum Theatre: Marketing and Development Director (responsibilities included marketing and press, catering, box office and sponsorship/business development)
Volcano Associates: Events company. (running events including Oldham Council switch-on, parades etc. plus training sessions for The Lowry, Prince’s Trust etc.)
Daisy Nook Garden Centre: Joint owner/MD. (main responsibilities include buying, retail management, HR)
Outside interests: Whilst living in London I was secretary of Highgate Cemetery Trust (voluntary run/owned business and tourist attraction). I sat on the retail sub-committee.
Consultant to Oldham Town Centre Partnership (responsibilities include marketing, event management). After dinner speaking: I talk on a range of topics – pantomime, Victorian music hall, my career, Coronation St, Victorian crimes, cruise ships.
Writing – I have had three books published with my first novel in the works. I have contributed hundreds of articles to such publication as Lancashire Life. I have many pantomime scripts published.
I became a Trustee in 2021 and am currently Vice Chair of the trustees.
