I was born and raised in South Manchester, where I still live with my wife. I have 3 children, now adults. I spent the first half of my working life teaching in Further and Higher Education, including 13 years at Tameside College of Technology. On leaving the education field, I worked for the Health and Safety Executive as H.M. Principal Inspector, which involved significant amounts of work in the Health Care industry. I am able to advise on proactive management systems, safety engineering and human factors issues and I have assisted the Trust in its development of its Safety Management systems.
I have core knowledge of English Law, particularly Legal Method, Law of Contract and Tort. I have experience of dealing with Freedom of Information Issues.
I am currently self-employed, providing advice and expert witness services to Prosecutors and Defendants in cases concerning Occupational Health and Safety, Corporate Manslaughter and Manslaughter.
My leisure interests include being a keen gardener, walking, travel and DIY.
