Willow Wood Hospice is here for anyone in Tameside or Glossop who has a life-limiting condition and the new START Clinic offers Support, Treatment, Assessment, Rehabilitation and Therapy to those who need it.
It can be very difficult to come to terms with a diagnosis and the effect it has on your life, and the empathetic staff and volunteers in Day Services at Willow Wood understand what people are going through. They offer real emotional support throughout difficult times, and can help everyone reach their fullest potential by offering individual treatments and physical rehabilitation to maintain a good quality of life for as long as possible.
Willow Wood recognises that everyone is different and that the progression of their illness is different, whether it be a neurological condition, kidney disease, heart or lung disease or one of the many forms of cancer.
It follows, therefore, that the treatment should be tailored specifically for each person. By using a wide range of individual and group treatments including physiotherapy, complementary therapies, creative therapies, a Live Better programme to help manage and understand symptoms, self-esteem and beauty treatments, exercise programmes and more, Willow Wood ensure that everyone gets the best possible help and support available.
Psychological and emotional support is also extended to carers. Many people find it difficult to cope with the changing situation, and Willow Wood can help them understand and acknowledge what is happening with their loved ones. This, like all aspects of Hospice care, is totally free of charge.
