Latest Sahara Trek - Looking ahead to an adventurous 2021!

After the year we've had with lockdowns and travel restrictions, there now seems to be some light at the end of the tunnel with the promise of a Covid-19 vaccine. It will be so good to have something to look forward to in 2021 and many of us could be inspired to do something really different and to take part in a once in a lifetime adventure. Could the Willow Wood Sahara Trek be the experience you’re looking for?

It’s a six day expedition, with four days trekking across the desert. You’ll be scaling huge dunes, sleeping under canvas, seeing sights you've never seen before. You’ll be eating traditional Berber cuisine, scaling the ever-changing dunes which can reach hundreds of metres in height, gazing over mesmerising landscapes and experiencing the heat of the daytime sun contrasting with the cool of the night.

You’ll really dig deep into your reserves, both mentally and physically. You’ll be encouraging the other trekkers as they’ll be encouraging you, forging friendships and making memories that will last forever. Could you take on this challenge?

Willow Wood, in conjunction with Skyline Events, are taking a small group to Morocco in November 2021 for this adventure. It will be gruelling; you’ll be walking over the dunes for up to six hours each day, but we can honestly say it will be one of the most amazing experiences of your life. And, if you need another reason to take part, every participant will be raising substantial sums for Willow Wood to enable us to continue our loving, specialised care for the people of Tameside and Glossop.

If you’d like to find out more about the Willow Wood Sahara Trek book yourself onto the Zoom Information Evening scheduled for the evening of 19 January, 2021. As well as an introduction to some of the Trekkers already signed up, it will give the opportunity to meet guides who have been there and experienced the Sahara first hand. Their presentation may answer any questions you may have, but they’ll be available to talk through any queries you may have.

Taking part in the Zoom Evening will not put you under any obligation; if it’s not for you that’s fine, we won’t contact you about it again. However, if you can’t make that date, and if you feel the Trek is for you or are just intrigued to find out more email for details.
