Dementia Network Meetings

Every two months*, the Hospice hosts a Dementia Network Meeting for professionals, coming into contact with people with dementia, to exchange ideas and best practice.

Two thirds of people with dementia live in the community and one third live in care homes. 60,000 deaths a year are directly attributable to dementia.

Willow Wood are pleased to hold this meeting and welcome any professionals, including local care homes, GP practices, Hospice staff, and Hospital staff. We also welcome staff from organisations, such as Age UK and Alzheimer’s society. The meetings aim to include any professional who can contribute to the sharing of dementia related knowledge.

Speakers from within or outside the group are often invited to set a theme for the meeting. Common areas of discussion during the meetings are issues in health and social services that impact on those living with dementia, and the people who care for them.
