Butterfly Memory Release 2020
Saturday 11 July saw our fifth Butterfly Memory Release at which we were unable, due to Covid-19, to welcome our friends and supporters to Willow Wood to set their butterflies free into our gardens.
However, it was still a wonderful day. A little cooler than we would have liked, which meant that some of the butterflies were a reluctant to leave the comfort of their temporary home, but they all took flight in the end with many alighting on the Willow Wood staff and volunteers who were there.
Hospice chaplain Eddy Inglis gave a beautiful speech and prayer and for those who couldn't hear it all (unfortunately the air ambulance was circling overhead and we hope and pray that all was well), or would like to take his inspirational words in once more, they are available here.
You can see more photos from the day on our gallery, but here a just a few to give you the flavour of the day.
We would like to thank My Tameside Community Radio for their support during the day and for helping us reach out to our friends and supporters.
