PAT Tester

All donated electrical appliances (such as kettles, radios, bedside lamps etc) must pass a PAT test prior to them being sold in our shops

  • To complete a PAT tests on required items
  • Issue certificates with the device once tested
  • Record that the PAT test has been completed
  • Dispose of any items that fail the PAT test
  • All areas of Health and Safety will be covered in the initial induction training
  • How to record the PAT tests
  • The volunteer must hold a City & Guilds certificate in Portable Appliance Testing and show evidence of this
  • Good record keeping skills
  • Be able to work independently
  • Be comfortable with lifting and moving items – some of which may be heavy
  • Minimum two hour shifts, flexibility needed.
