Speciality Doctor at Willow Wood Hospice
Pay Scale Specialty Doctor scale £40,037 – £74,661 Pro Rata
6 Sessions a week (plus 1:5 weekend on-call)
Willow Wood Hospice is a 12 bedded In Patient adult Hospice based in Ashton under Lyne, Tameside in east Manchester providing specialist palliative care for patients living with life-limiting illnesses. We provide care free of charge. Patients, families and their loved ones are at the centre of everything that we do. The care we offer is tailored to meet individuals’ physical, social, spiritual and emotional needs.
Applications are invited for a doctor to work at Willow Wood hospice gaining experience in Palliative Medicine. You will join our multidisciplinary team providing excellent medical care to patients living with life-limiting illnesses. Previous experience in palliative care is not essential as full training will be given, but if you have experience this would be welcomed. You will need to have full GMC registration, be able to work in the UK, and to have worked for a minimum of 2 years full-time equivalent post-registration. MRCP and MRCGP are desirable.
We provide a comprehensive range of day services including our START clinic, dementia nurses, family support and medical outpatients and the successful applicant will be encouraged to take part in continued professional development with our team.

Part Time – 18 hours
Willow Wood Hospice is set in a tranquil location in Ashton under Lyne and serves the population of Tameside and Glossop. We see anyone with a life limiting diagnosis including cancer, respiratory, cardiac and progressive neurological conditions.
We aim to help everyone who passes through our doors to attain the best possible quality of life. Our care whether it be physical, psychological, social or spiritual also extends to families and carers.
We provide a comprehensive range of day services including our START clinic, dementia nurses, family support and medical outpatients. We also have a 12 bedded Inpatient Unit.
We are currently reviewing all our services to work more closely with our community partners in providing excellent coordinated end of life care
Due to retirement, we are now looking for a physiotherapist to extend our therapy team. You will work across all areas of the hospice, both current and those developed in the future, meeting the therapy and rehabilitation needs of our patients, and supporting families and carers. You will work closely with the Band 6 OT and assistant practitioner
You will be fully integrated into the day services clinical team, which includes nursing staff and clinical assistants as well as the therapists. You will also offer a physiotherapy service to inpatients as part of a coordinated rehabilitation programme
We are looking for someone who has a real interest in palliative and end of life care, is keen to take a holistic approach to their practice and has developed skills across professional boundaries in order to meet patient need.
